About

Since January 2010, CyniCritics.com has provided film enthusiasts with a range of free, film-related content including film reviews, trailer reviews, essays, star spotlights and other cool features like the “If they were in television..” series.

The site was created by Matt Erspamer and Luke Miller who also write, produce and manage all of the site’s content.

The collaboration initially began in late 2008 when creators Matt Erspamer and Luke Miller published a prototype for a magazine titled Dark Side. The magazine, which featured movie reviews and articles, was published as a special edition for their high school newspaper, The Wildcat Chronicle. Nearly a year later, the two began collaborating on an movie review blog that eventually led them to creating this site, CyniCritics.

This is not the first collaboration by Matt Erspamer and Luke Miller. Their first project together was co-writing a screenplay in August 2008 for a crime drama called “Box City.” After writing several other short projects together, they teamed up to create a sitcom titled “The Classroom” for their high school television network Lakeview Lowdown. The nine episode series is based on NBC’s hit, “The Office.” The two produced, wrote, directed and starred in the series which received much praise.

Although they are now attending different colleges, the two remain great friends and still find time to collaborate  often with one another.

  1. Awesome Job! Two very talented young writers. Their knowledge and insight of movies amazes me as well as others. Two young writers definetly on their way up!!

  2. Hello,
I am the Blog Administrator at Movies Unlimited, a mail order retailer of classic movies. We’ve recently started a blog (www.MovieFanFare.com) and I thought some of your posts would be of interest to our readers. Would it be possible to reprint one of your posts on our blog? We would naturally provide a link back to your blog and provide a short bio if you supply it. The only changes we would make to your content would be adding any links we deem relevant to provide information to our readers (ex – links to our retail website or Wikipedia). Please let me know what you think of all of this, and keep up the amazing work!
I look forward to hearing from you.

  3. Really like the website, mainly your features/lists. Don’t like the redesign though, thought the website looked better before, but do enjoy the site.

  4. Thanks! Glad you like the site. We really wanted to revamp the layout and brand, but have been getting mixed feedback with the layout. A, hopefully, better change is to come in the future when we can figure something out.
